RADES POWER PLANT

1.LOT WATER LINE - SHIELDING OF EXCAVATIONS :

The work to shield the excavations of the underground structures of the new RADES-C power plant was carried out using a variety of techniques adapted to each structure.

For the pumping station, the shielding was provided by 60 cm thick and 16 m deep diaphragm walls. These walls were reinforced by supports made of metal sheaths and HEB profiles to ensure the stability of the excavations.

For the discharge structure, the shielding was provided using a sheet pile wall, made of 12 m long ARBED PU28 sheet piles. These sheet piles, some of which were recoverable and others lost, were supported using HEB profiles. The work also included protecting the structure by rockfilling the banks.

For the seawater intake, the shielding process was similar, using 12 m long ARBED PU28 sheet piles, buttressed with HEB profiles, and supplemented by rockfill work to protect the banks.

The BONNA pipe, with a diameter of 2.30 m, was surrounded by an enclosure made of 12 m long ARBED PU28 type recoverable sheet piles, reinforced with HEB profile buttresses.

Finally, the neutralization pit benefited from similar shielding, using 12 m long ARBED PU28 type lost and recoverable sheet piles, with a HEB profile buttressing system to ensure the stability of the excavations.
